The pleated shade throws this lovely soft, textured light across the hallway, way warmer than the flat fixture it replaced. Swapping it in took me maybe fifteen minutes, and the little switch on the base means I didn't have to rewire anything for a dimmer. Brass has a nice weight to it too.
The switch on the base is such a small thing but it's exactly what I needed next to the bed, no fumbling for a pull cord in the dark. The brass has a nice weight to it and the pleats throw soft shadows up the wall.
